The indicator shows the share of acute food insecure people who are supported by WFP emergency assistance in a given country

Other information required for this corporate indicator:

  • Number of acutely food insecure people (based on Global Report on Food Crisis, for the respective year of reference. This is based on IPC/CH or equivalent country level data, selection of countries included is based on the multi-partner process for the GRFC. This indicator is not available on country level for all countries.

Inclusion criteria for Mandatory Country Level Indicator(s):

The mandatory country level indicator is included in the aggregation of the corporate indicator under SO.1 only if all the following conditions are met

  • The output indicator is selected in CSP logframes under SO.1he indicator is selected in CSP logframes under SO.1

CALCULATION & AGGREGATION
METHODOLOGY

This indicator is:

  • The “number of people receiving WFP emergency assistance” is calculated as the unique count of beneficiaries assisted under SO1, sourced from COMET.

  • The “Number of acutely food insecure” is sourced from the Global Report on Food Crises

  • The number of acutely food insecure people is not available for all countries, but only available on regional and global level. Therefore, the indicator cannot be reported on country level.

LIMITATIONS

The number of acutely food insecure countries can be influenced by data availability, and is not available for all countries.

Total of people who are food insecure is not the basis for WFP planning interventions. WFP planning is based on resources available.
