2.4. People management and duty of care

PURPOSE

This indicator assesses WFP’s performance in fulfilling the objectives of the UN-wide Mental Health Strategy, both independently and in relation to other UN entities

CALCULATION FORMULA

Result KPI = (Σ of Strategy Indicators met by WFP/Σ total number of Strategy indicators) X100

There are 12 indicators in the UN wide Mental Health Strategy (denominator). WFP completes a yearly scorecard to report on its activities in accordance with the strategy (numerator). The end score is the number of indicators that WFP scores as successfully meeting as a percentage of the total number of indicators

CALCULATION STEPS

  1. Circulation of the annual mental health scorecard to relevant internal stakeholders

  2. Reporting by internal stakeholders on activities related to the indicators applicable to their work

  3. Compilation of all responses by the Chief of Staff counselling

DATA SOURCE

Data is available from reports prepared by each function involved in reporting in the annual Mental Health scorecard. The following functional areas are requested to provide inputs for the calculation of the final score:

  • Wellness & Culture Division, including the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Unit, People and Culture Coordination (PCC) Unit, and Employee Resource Groups (ERG)

  • Human Resources Management Division

  • Management Services Division

  • Office of the Ombudsperson

  • Risk Management Division

  • Security Division

  • Ethics Office

Other stakeholders with mental health-related activities are welcome to contribute to the 2026 scorecard

ASSUMPTIONS

WFP will maintain its progress on the UN-wide Mental Health scorecard indicators and continue improving its practices in line with recommendations from the UN Mental Health Strategy team

LIMITATIONS

Possible limitations are the reduction in staff counselling services available due to organizational realignment and reduction in budget for staff counselling
