With baseline value and targets expressed in percentage
CALCULATION STEPS
The KPI score is determined directly by the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI) using its standardized assessment methodology. The overall score combines three dimensions of data quality and transparency:
Timeliness Measures how regularly WFP updates its IATI data and how quickly information is published after activities occur IATI assigns two sub‑scores—frequency and time lag—each rated on a scale from 0 to 4 These are summed, divided by 8 (the maximum possible score), and converted into a percentage
Forward‑Looking Information Assesses the extent to which WFP publishes future budgets and planned financial information It is calculated as the average percentage of current activities that include budget data for the current year plus the following two years, reflecting predictability and openness in planning
Comprehensiveness Evaluates how complete WFP’s published information is across three data groups:
Core information
Financial data
Value‑added data
Each category is scored for completeness A weighted average is then applied, with core information double‑weighted due to its foundational importance to transparency
The final KPI score reflects WFP’s overall performance across these three dimensions and is published by IATI through its public dashboard
DATA SOURCE
Data is available from WFP Primary system(s), dataset(s), or repository(ies) from which KPI data are obtained
Sufficient technical and human resources continue to be allocated to ensure the regular monthly publication of accurate, high‑quality IATI data
Core corporate systems (e.g., financial, programmatic, and results systems) remain able to generate and export the structured data required for IATI‑compliant reporting
No major changes are introduced to IATI’s scoring methodology, data standards, or assessment criteria that would materially affect comparability over the 2026–2029 period
WFP internal processes for data validation, quality assurance, and publication control remain functional and consistently applied
LIMITATIONS
IATI may revise or update its scoring criteria, data fields, or assessment methodology with limited advance notice, which may restrict WFP’s ability to adapt internal data extraction, transformation, and publication processes in time for the next assessment cycle
Changes to IATI’s underlying technical standards (e.g., schema updates, coding rules, or mandatory fields) may require system adjustments that depend on IT development capacity and cannot be implemented immediately
The KPI score is fully dependent on the accuracy of automated harvesting by the IATI Dashboard; any external system errors, delays, or downtime are outside WFP’s control
The quality of the score relies on the completeness and consistency of data coming from multiple internal systems; data gaps or delays in upstream systems (financial, operational, results) may reduce the final rating
Comparability over time may be affected if IATI introduces new dimensions, weighting schemes, or classification rules during the 2026–2029 period
